- Emits heat - The heat output is quite large, and the ability to withstand the heat is relatively poor. The temperature should not be too high as it may cause “loss of magnetism”.
- Reduced capacity - It does not have the capacity to carry much load in comparison to its competitors.
- They require less onsite service time when compared to older elevator systems.
- Repair and fault not convenient – The maintenance of MRL is not as convenient as MR (machine room) elevators. The maintenance cost is relatively higher. The parts are not readily available for repair and hence malfunction.
